Slap the Water

How old was Elisha when he slapped the waters of Jordan in 2 Kings 2:14? How much did he do through? He was no young boy.

He had plowed the fields of his youth and had burned the yokes behind him. He had had the mantle of a man man of God laid lovingly over his shoulders. He had walked with this same man a while and not every day had been filled with 'You can do it!' speeches. In fact at times he was discouraged in his following. But, Still he went from city to city. He traveled through confidence and through doubt...

One day the mantle of loving people fell upon him. He took it and used it.

"Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, "Where is the LORD God of Elijah?" And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over." 2 Kings 2:14 NKJV

Have we been loved? There is a day when the mantle of loving others falls on us. Let's slap the water and cry out to God. Miracle after miracle will surely follow.
