Jesus was perfect.
He Is perfect.
We can't copy Him successfully but we don't need to copy Him. We just believe in Him.
God set it up this way on purpose.
We are exactly who we need to be when we believe in Him. God is perfectly pleased by that faith.
"Do not fear, only believe." - Mark 5:36b ESV
If is a focus on someone outside of our self who Is completely 'on our side' in love. The 'perfect one' loves us and remains perfect while doing it.
This thought sparks worship in me.
"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you." - 1 Peter 5:10 ESV
That suffering could be circumstantial because of the actions of others. It could be because of failure. It could even be because we tried to be something we were not.
Grace takes us to the place where Jesus is all and in all. He loves us outside of performance. The perfect One loves us and that is what establishes us.
I wish I could communicate this truth in a way that people could hear it but I know that for some it is going to take some more suffering before it sinks in. The lies and false focus have to be shaken or melted away because our eyes have been blinded to what Adam and Eve instinctively knew before the fall.
If we never let Jesus love us then we are never changed by God's love. All we are left with is our own judgment worthy imperfection.
Let's walk with Him in the cool of the morning. Ultimately He has things under control. We share the Gospel and trust that it is a seed that may take some time to sprout and when it does come to life it does so in the most surprising places.
