Revenge That Is Sweet

Puritanical people may not admit it but revenge feels good and is a marvelous motivator.

"And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled." - 2 Corinthians 10:6 KJV

"For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come." - Isaiah 63:4 KJV

"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord." - Romans 12:19 KJV

Instead of directing revenge at flesh and blood (people or genetics) based on good and bad we leave that revenge to God. He has a revenge that takes the cross into account and so can we.

Sweet revenge for us is when we win a victory over our own potential carnality and function in spirituality instead. Going the extra mile when we feel lazy. Facing fear or living in grace when we are could linger in anger. Remembering God when we could just be thinking of ourselves and entering into the 'obedience of faith' by trusting Him.

That revenge has a good feeling attached to it. We overturn something that is against us. Our comeback is ten times better then carnality's petty remark.

My old man isn't getting the best of me today. I'll show him what's what and live a new life. The 'year of the redeemed' has come.
