Groanings

"But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:25-28 ESV

This is such a great passage. I don't know of any quite like it in the scriptures. It reveals the inner communication of the Trinity in such an intimate way. That word 'groanings' just hits you in such a special way.

Maybe we have had our groaning times. A yearning that is so broad that it defies description. The Greek word can also be translated 'sigh'.

God does this for us.

You don't sigh for someone if it is impersonal. Groaning are personal.

God has the details covered that we don't or can't have covered. His will is to be so much a part of our lives that He sighs at the details and has a plan that will work out for our good in every situation.

I don't think anyone could ask for more than that.
