Spirit Leading In The Book of Acts

I was supposed to travel this weekend to minister in a different state but i 'didn't have peace' about it... that is a difficult thing to explain to people but it has biblical precedent for this in the book of Acts.

"After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not." - Acts 16:7 KJV

"And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there:" - Acts 20:22 KJV

"And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem." - Acts 21:4 KJV

The Spirit directed people to connect with other people on several occasions (see Acts 8:29-31, 9:10-12, 21:4) and He also gave 'stop' and 'keep going' types of directions but it was always in the context of 'pre-existing movement' the person was moving by faith already and the Spirit steered them. I see this as important. I want to keep moving by faith... not striving (trying to make something happen) but moving towards a redemptive goal and in that we can be led by God.

"And the LORD said to Moses, "I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiff-necked people." - Exodus 32:9 ESV

They could not be easily directed. They wanted to move in a straight line.

"For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, 'Abba! Father!' The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God," - Romans 8:13-16 ESV

If someone we love and respect directs us to turn we are much more likely to do so. God is that person. We have things to do today but are we available to stop and talk to a person who isn't on the 'agenda'? Can we stop our movement or change our destination? Are we asking for that direction and leading as we get moving by faith?
