Building Capacity In The Family - Colossians - Part 22

There have been volumes written on these next verses.

"Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and do not be harsh with them. Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged." - Colossians 3:18-21 ESV

I keep thinking about capacity as I read this passage. How do we build capacity and how do we destroy capacity inside the closed circle of the home? Grace builds capacity. Honor is royal and amazing.

Each family is so different. What if every member gives grace? Something wonderful happens.

The home is the fundamental building block of any society. If the home is solid then each life represented has so much going for them as they face the challenges that lie outside.

'How can I build capacity in those around me?'

Perhaps we want to change people but building capacity is a much more profitable pursuit because we can't change anyone. We can't even change ourselves much less someone else... but God can use us to build capacity and that is an amazing privilege.
