The Peace Filled Warrior

There is something heroic about a man of peace who stands ready to defend what is right and true.

"Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain." - Philippians 2:14-16 NKJV

"Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints. For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day" - Jude 1:3-6 NKJV

Jesus is both the Prince of Peace and the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is a lamb and a Lion. He is the perfect man.

We look at Him and we are amazed. Somehow in each situation we are placed in there is a need for a balance of both aspects of manhood. A man of peace is needed and also a man of war. A woman of peace and a woman of war.

The battle is not a battle against flesh and blood and the peace is not natural either.

The stakes are high. Our families... our loved ones... our culture... our freedom... the souls of men and women... these are the things that hang in the balance.

Oh God. I must become less and you must become more in my life. Your Spirit filling and guiding and moving must be at the root of my thinking. Fill me today... make me a man of great peace who fights for the right things and in the right ways.
