Shining From A Seated Position

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;" - Hebrews 1:1-3 KJV

Two phrases caught my attention this morning.

'The brightness of his glory'
'The express image of his person'

He is the perfect reflection of God in time and space and He is and has the seal of divine authenticity.

Being who He was He did what He did and what He did (among many other things) was purge our sins at the cross. Now He Is seated above in Heavenly places.

"If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God." - Colossians 3:1 ESV

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ--by grace you have been saved-- and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus," - Ephesians 2:4-6 ESV

Wow. I hesitate to formulate an application because there are so many but all applications are from a seated position. We operate from rest. Jesus Is shining forth from a place of rest in active intercession for us and as far as God is concerned we are sitting with Christ as He Is praying for us.

Amazing.
