It Is Him

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.' " - John 14:6-7 ESV

It's Him. Really it is. It's not a method or a philosophy. It's a person. The person.

He Is the method and path. He is the first hand information. He is the animating power of life itself.

"The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace. Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men. We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us." - Isaiah 59:8-11 KJV

We listen to the angry poets of music that reflects dark truth. Each generation invents a new brand of it and it resonates with our heart. Talk radio rails against the ways that are not the way and information that is not the truth.

There is no path to purity and justice without Him but with Him we find it. We are put on it.

Without Him the world will die and so will we. Our water will be poisoned and mankind will outgrow it's food supply and resources. The secular world lives purposely shortsighted hoping man can overcome it's greed and evolve but secretly despairs and looks to crueler solutions of violence just in case it will not happen in time.

"On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward. And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him. ... And the LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day the LORD will be one and his name one." - Zechariah 14:4-5, 9 ESV

If life on this planet evolved than man is a disease because we destroy what is beautiful to make more money. But we did not evolve... we were created and Jesus is the knight in shining armor that will save it. He is the Savior of the World and of the individual.

"Thomas said to him, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?'

Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' " - John 14:5-6 ESV

Thomas is the embodiment of the doubter. The skeptical disciple. But, When He does see Jesus risen with wounds in His hands and side he worships.

We need to see Jesus. Seeing Him opens our access to the Father. I am going to roar like a bear and mourn like a dove if I lose sight of Him.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age." - Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

"[She] My beloved has gone down to his garden to the beds of spices, to graze in the gardens and to gather lilies." - Song of Songs 6:2 ESV

We find Him in the great commandment and in the great commission. We see Him in the finished work of the cross. His death, burial and resurrection now point us to a throne of grace where He sits.
